So true. Reminds me of Will Hunting & Sean Maguire debating about “the right &$!£
Anonymous asked: How do you make writing flow better? I always seem to get caught up in descriptions and it doesn't read as easily as I'd like
Practice and read. Those are the two best ways to change your writing style and to get better at writing.
When you write your first draft, don’t feel like what you write is final. You can always go back and change it. Get out everything you want to say and edit later.
Achieving writing that flows is also about word choice, tone, and pacing. One sentence should carry on to the next in a way that makes sense and words shouldn’t stick out on the page. If you’re not sure why your descriptions don’t flow as well, try looking at the word choice, the tone of the scene, and the overall pacing. You may need to slow down the description or speed it up. If you’re not sure, get a beta reader and ask them to look out for stilted writing. They may be able to tell you what the problem is.
